I'm working on Godsend 2. I had an interesting discussion with one of my students yesterday. In the second book there are several scenes where action is happening in the spiritual realm while people are completely unaware of it in the physical realm. So, how do angels and demons interact with our realm? We know angels have been physical and can interact with the physical realm (just read Acts 12). At the same time, we know that angels can be present and unseen by our physical eyes (2 Kings 6). This is most likely territory far beyond my understanding, but it is sure fun to talk about. What do you think?

Yes. Also if they have a battle in front of some person (Again the people do not see the angels or demons) the angels and demons will be hitting gates or walls outside. And the people will only see leaves brushing on the floor. This topic makes me laugh, but it is also very interesting.

I think that teenagers do lack the spirituality needed in life. I mean, they are really just too immature to get what we are teaching here. I am not saying that they are lost causes, but it will just take a harder time for them to realize what they are lacking. I hope that I can help these kids with that. I want to be the person responsible for helping people get through the worrisome things that they are dealing with.

Thanks for your comment. Actually, it may depend on the teens you're working with. There will always be different levels of maturity in teens. However, I am currently working with an awesome group of boys at my church. We're going through the book of Galatians together. I have chosen to treat them like adults and feed them the meat of the word. Our meetings are intense and challenging, but the boys seem to love it. All the feedback I have received is positive. Tell them you are going to treat them like adults, to honor them and show your respect for them. Most teens are looking for meaning and purpose, they are asking key questions about life. What a perfect time to share with them what God has done for us in Christ.

I am not sure I understand your question, but I will try to answer. We see in the Bible angels interacting with people. Angels are very much involved with Jesus' birth (it must have amazed them!). An angel let Peter out of prison. Angels talked with Abraham. We also see demons very active in the gospels and Acts, throwing people into illness and insanity. The Bible says that there are two realms, one physical and one spiritual (you can think of them as two dimensions). Both realms are inhabited. Both can interact with each other (Jesus and Peter and Paul all cast demons out of people). The Bible says that some people have entertained angels without knowing it. So what does that mean for us? I think we just have to be ready and keep our eyes open. Be ready to thank angels for their help and to pray against demons when you suspect they are causing problems. The Bible is our window into the reality of both realms.

One more thing. In the end, God will bring these two realms together. At the end of the Book of Revelation we see Heaven and Earth as one. God will be seen, Jesus will be physically with us, and angels will be our friends (imagine hanging out with Gabriel and Michael and hearing their stories!). Leave a Reply. |
